So what is the current state of hip hop? If you gave me a rand for every different response to the question posed, you would be looking at one rich man. Hip hop is a vast science that cannot be painted on a single canvas and framed because there is just too much going on out there. It has been said that a lot of the mainstream hip hop being put out there for public consumption lacks substance. So how is it that the same music is the one generating a lot of revenue?
